Le pape François, inspirateur du Directoire ?

S’il est habituel qu’un Directoire pour la catéchèse s’appuie sur les orientations du pape, il est important de comprendre, pour une bonne réception du nouveau Directoire, quels éléments de la pensée du pape François il entend intégrer dans la pensée et l’action catéchétiques. Tel est l’objectif de cet article, qui montre d’une part que le Directoire de 2020 est en continuité avec l’enseignement de l’Église catholique depuis le concile Vatican II, le Directoire de 1997 et d’autres documents magistériels, d’autre part qu’il repose théologiquement et pastoralement sur Evangelii gaudium — conversion pastorale, kérygme, mission des familles et des jeunes… —, et enfin que l’influence du pape François y est déterminante, même s’il n’est pas toujours explicitement cité. Notamment dans son ouverture missionnaire, son attention à l’écologie intégrale et sa manière de concevoir la mission et la personne du catéchiste.

If it is usual for a Directory for Catechesis to be based on the Pope’s orientations, it is important to understand, for a good reception of the new Directory, which elements of Pope Francis’ thought it intends to integrate into catechetical thought and action. This is the aim of this article, which shows on the one hand that the 2020 Directory is in continuity with the teaching of the Catholic Church since the Second Vatican Council, the Directory of 1997 and other magisterial documents, on the other hand that it is based theologically and pastorally on Evangelii gaudium — pastoral conversion, the kerygma, the mission of families and young people — and finally that the influence of pope Francis is decisive, even if he’s not always explicitly mentioned. Especially in its missionary openness, his attention to integral ecology and his way of conceiving the mission and the person of the catechist.
