Résumé 0

This article examines the changes in terminology and calls for semantic and rhetorical transformation at work in recent years in the field of aging. Is banning words from the vocabulary a real step toward reducing stigma? It highlights the contradictory tension between, on the one hand, an effort to reduce the symbolic violence of certain words, and, on the other hand, the permanent stigmatizing effects that fail to be eradicated. Is changing the words enough to change the way growing old is perceived?
