It specifically examines the preservation of oral transmission and the transformation of the Vedas into sacred books, highlighting their materiality and their lasting importance in evolving cultural contexts. Grounded in interdisciplinary research and fieldwork, this contribution unravels the complex web of Vedic recitation and ritual performance. Through examples such as Guru Gaṅgeśvarānand Mahārāj's compilation of the Vedas into a printed book, the paper underscores the resilience and adaptability of Vedic traditions.
