L'occupation protohistorique de Bobigny (Seine-Saint-Denis)

The Bobigny settlement spans over 20 hectares of which 3 separate sectors were completely excavated linked to each other by trail trenches. The finds, the similar pattern of meat consumption and numerous archaeological data indicate that the site was occupied perhaps continuously from the La Tène B to the La Tène D1 period. The settlement adopts either an open plan settlement, surrounded by satellite settlements or is one vast urban type settlement with a stream running through it. 0,4% of the site has been explored and the results indicate that it was during the La Tène C2 and D1 that the settlement was at its height.

L'habitat de Bobigny, qui s'étend sur une vingtaine d'hectares, a été fouillé sur trois secteurs reliés par des observations ponctuelles. La grande homogénéité du mobilier sur les trois fenêtres d'observation, la similitude des types de consommation carnée, les nombreux indices chronologiques qui laissent supposer une occupation sans solution de continuité à l'échelle de la zone d'étude de La Tène B à La Tène D1, conduisent à reconstituer soit un habitat groupé ouvert entouré d'habitats satellites, soit un unique habitat plus vaste, structuré autour du ruisseau. Le site, à l'issue de la fouille de 0,4% de la surface, connaît son plein développement à La Tène C2 et D1.
