INFORMATION SEEKING, ROLE INNOVATION AND EXCHANGES BETWEEN DOMAINS OF LIFE : ANTECEDENTS AND MODES OF NEW EMPLOYEES’ PARTICIPATION IN THEIR ORGANIZATIONAL SOCIALIZATION This study aims to examine the antecedents of integration behaviour developed by new employees, including proactive behaviour such as information seeking and role innovation. It also takes into account the exchanges that subjects develop between their domains of life (occupational, familial, social and personal domains) in accordance with the model of a plural and active socialization. In particular, we examine the separate and combined influences of two factors on integration behaviour – mismatches between expectations and occupational reality on the one hand, and self-efficacy on the other. The data were collected among 157 recently recruited primary school teachers (134 women and 23 men). Three kinds of mismatches can be distinguished : mismatches related to work features, mismatches related to the impact of work on “ non-work ” life, and mismatches related to occupational self-concept. The results of this study show how self-efficacy has a different role in the relationship between mismatches and integration behaviour according to the sort of mismatch considered.
