The text is a report of the article presented in the international conference “Jurisdictional Status of the Kyiv Orthodox Metropolitanate in 1686: Theology, Canon Law and the Cultural and Historical Context”, which took place on January 31, 2019 in the Metropolitan Chambers of the Sofia Kyivska National Reserve. Based on the study of original documents and analysis of the historical and socio-political context that emerged in Ukraine in the second half of the XVIІ century, the conference participants considered the historical and canonical and theological issues and the existing versions of the transfer of the Kyiv Metropolitanate from Constantinople to the MoscowPatriarchate, and also showed the struggle of the Ukrainian clergy against the establishment of the Moscow ecclesiastical order in the domestic territories. It is interesting to study the role of certain persons in opposing or, conversely, contributing to the domination of the MoscowPatriarchate in Ukraine
