This dissertation deals with the neo-Ricardian theory of land and rent. The main reference concerning neo-Ricardian theory is of course the work of Piero Sraffa, and more specifically his book Production of Commodities by Means of Commodities, which is the subject of Part II. However, I do not limit myself to Sraffa. Before focusing on his theory, I study how three important authors of Classical Political Economy (Smith, Ricardo, Marx), who were Sraffa's main sources of inspiration, dealt with and explained rent (Part I). I also consider the views of those who work in the spirit of Sraffa. In particular, I analyse the influence of land and rent on the theory of choice of techniques (Part III). In this part I show a result on the uniqueness of cost-minimizing techniques using the notion of the "colour" (black or white) of a technique.

Ce travail traite de la théorie néo-ricardienne de la rente et de la terre. La référence principale en ce qui concerne la théorie néo-ricardienne est naturellement l'oeuvre de Piero Sraffa, et tout particulièrement son livre Production of Commodities by Means of Commodities, qui est étudiée en Partie II. Je ne me limite cependant pas à Sraffa. Avant de présenter sa théorie, je passe en revue comment trois grands auteurs classiques (Smith, Ricardo, Marx), qui constituent les sources d'inspiration majeures de Sraffa, ont traité et expliqué la rente (Partie I). Je considère aussi ceux qui travaillent dans l'esprit de Sraffa. J'analyse en particulier l'influence de la terre et de la rente sur la théorie du choix de techniques (Partie III). Dans cette partie, je démontre un résultat sur l'unicité des techniques de coût minimal en utilisant la notion de la "couleur" (blanc ou noir) d'une technique.
