Mathieu Servanton, « Les registres du parlement de Bordeaux sous Louis XIII, présentation et enseignements », Histoire, économie & société, ID : 10670/1.msge7w
The reign of Louis XIII is now the poor relation of the historiography of the parlements in the Old Regime France. A source, the registres secrets du parlement de Bordeaux , preserved in the municipal archives of the city, allows a first approach of the political relations between the crown and this sovereign court. Some developments appear in governance practices used to force judges to the registration of royal edicts. The lack of systematic use of the lit de justice and the relative ineffectiveness of letters of jussion lead to the use of men sent by the government and attacks on the financial status of judges.
