This document presents a proposal to design a model for the integration of information technology and communication in the classroom of the industrial engineering program of the Universidad Industrial de Santander, given that it was identified that use and integration of technology in the educational process in Colombia deficiencies, and it is necessary for institutions to take ownership of this problem and focus on the study of different methods to facilitate teaching-learning, taking into account that currently, the use of technology is point of reference for the development of the country and a requirement for all professionals. Therefore, it was proposed to evaluate the Industrial Engineering program of the Universidad Industrial de Santander, the environment and what the exercise of the Industrial Engineer involves regarding the use of Information and Communication Technologies. Subsequently, perform benchmarking with academic plans of national or international universities regarding the use of technology. Finally, analyze and design the plan the incorporation of information and communication technologies for the Industrial Engineering program. Obtaining with this, the current status of the Industrial Engineering program of the Universidad Industrial de Santander and the environment regarding the use of technology; as well as the best practices of use these, according to the academic plans of accredited or international national universities located the first five places of Shanghai Ranking.

Este documento presenta una propuesta de diseñar un modelo para la integración de las tecnologías de la información y la comunicación en el aula del programa de ingeniería industrial de la Universidad Industrial de Santander, dado que se identificó que el uso e integración de la tecnología en el proceso educativo en Colombia presenta deficiencias, y es necesario que las instituciones se apropien de esta problemática y se centren en el estudio de diferentes métodos para facilitar la labor de enseñanza-aprendizaje, teniendo en cuenta que actualmente el uso de la tecnología es el punto de referencia para el desarrollo del país y una exigencia para todos los profesionales. Por tanto, se propuso evaluar el programa de Ingeniería Industrial de la Universidad Industrial de Santander, del entorno y de lo que implica el ejercicio del Ingeniero Industrial respecto al uso de las Tecnologías de la Información y la Comunicación. Posteriormente, realizar benchmarking con planes académicos de universidades nacionales o internacionales respecto al uso de la tecnología. Finalmente analizar y diseñar el plan de incorporación de las tecnologías de la información y la comunicación para el programa de Ingeniería Industrial. Obteniendo con ello, el estado actual del programa de Ingeniería Industrial de la Universidad Industrial de Santander y del entorno respecto al uso de la tecnología; así como las mejores prácticas de uso de estas, según planes académicos de universidades nacionales acreditadas o internacionales ubicadas en los primeros cinco lugares del Ranking Shangai.
