This document presents a proposal to design a model for the integration of information technology and communication in the classroom of the industrial engineering program of the Universidad Industrial de Santander, given that it was identified that use and integration of technology in the educational process in Colombia deficiencies, and it is necessary for institutions to take ownership of this problem and focus on the study of different methods to facilitate teaching-learning, taking into account that currently, the use of technology is point of reference for the development of the country and a requirement for all professionals. Therefore, it was proposed to evaluate the Industrial Engineering program of the Universidad Industrial de Santander, the environment and what the exercise of the Industrial Engineer involves regarding the use of Information and Communication Technologies. Subsequently, perform benchmarking with academic plans of national or international universities regarding the use of technology. Finally, analyze and design the plan the incorporation of information and communication technologies for the Industrial Engineering program. Obtaining with this, the current status of the Industrial Engineering program of the Universidad Industrial de Santander and the environment regarding the use of technology; as well as the best practices of use these, according to the academic plans of accredited or international national universities located the first five places of Shanghai Ranking.
