Natural environment, its valorisation in Yerba Buena urban growth, Argentina In periphery of the agglomeration of Gran San Miguel de Tucuman, the wooded sierra of San Javier represents an urban stake, from its socioeconomic potentialities, and its role in the eqttilibrium of natural environments. Now, this relatively well preserved space exercises an attractiveness on the city for several decades, leading to the constitution of a suburb for privileged persons to Yerba Buena. The increased competition for the usage of the sierra results in the rise of the anthropological pressure. The planning of the territory, too often deficient in the Latin American cities, is in the center of the matter.

En périphérie de l’agglomération du Grand San Miguel de Tucuman, la sierra boisée de San Javier représente un enjeu urbain de par ses potentialités socio-économiques, et par son rôle dans l’équilibre des milieux. Or, cet espace relativement bien préservé exerce une attractivité sur la ville depuis plusieurs décennies, aboutissant à la constitution d’une banlieue pour privilégiés à Yerba Buena. La concurrence accrue pour l’usage de la sierra se traduit par l’élévation de la pression anthropique. La planification du territoire, trop souvent déficiente dans les villes latino-américaines, se trouve au centre de la question.
