Martine Cohen, « Jews and Muslims in France: Changing responses to cultural and religious diversity », HAL-SHS : sociologie, ID : 10670/1.nxgdxn
French Society doesn't accept diversity today as it did in the 1970s and 1980s, when a Jewish renewal sprang. Changes in the international political context, notably the rise of political radical Islam, are now raising fears of social fragmentation. As a consequence, new debates on secularism oppose now the proponents of a "strict laïcité" to those of "multiculturalism".
