This article aims to explore how Flores och Blanzeflor, a fourteenth century Swedish adaptation of the popular roman idyllique Floire et Blanchefleur, reconciles its depiction of love and sexuality as well as social transgression with its strong Christian theme, especially present in the Scandinavian version of the romance.
