Thierry Pech, « L’homme de lettres aux assises : Gide, Mauriac, Giono », Histoire de la justice, ID : 10670/1.oklryu
Memories of Cour d’assises ; (Gide 1914), Notes sur l’affaire Dominici ; (Giono 1951) and Affaire Favre-Bulle ; (Mauriac 1932) invite to us to take a look at the assizes according to the implication level of the author. Mauriac, the most external to the trial presents himself as a lawyer of passionate crime in front of the jury, the “twelve heads monster”. Giono, who was a judiciary columnist describes the fragility of words and bodies. As a jury, Gide is involved and aware of the institutions’weaknesses crosses the judgement’s test.
