"The presence of Venezuela in Italian culture of the late eighteenth centuryThe literary and scientific presence of Venezuelan Jesuits in Italy during the second part ofthe XVIII Century constitutes a phenomenon still understudied in its true dimensions. Toillustrate it a triple conceptual referential framework is presented: First, is the literature ofexpatriation, surrounding the problem of the causes that motivated the royal decision to obtainthe citizenship of the followers of Ignatius de Loyola in 1767. Second, is the literature ofexpulsion that is circumscribed by the inventories prepared in situ at the time of putting it intopractice the Caesarian decision in 1767 and by the attached documentation. Third, and the mainobject of study, is the literature of exile, which studies the intellectual action of VenezuelanJesuits in Italian lands and constitutes an almost unexplored area of Colombian-Venezuelaninvestigation."
