"This text presents the results of astudy aimed to address the discourses on obe-sity control published in the magazine Capri-cho. Through the analyses of discourses, the“diets” for loosening weight published in thisadolescents driven magazine were analyzedcontrasting the technical-scientific contents tothose media framed. Result shows that there isa struggle between the health technical dis-course and the media discursive construction.The media hybrid text that includes severalsymbolic fields and meanings (technical-sci-entific and audience related) is framed withambiguities. This might contribute more to themarketing of light products or a life style andbody than to an adequate and nutritional ed-ucation for the adolescents."
