Taking for granted that the metropolitan phenomenon produces inequalities when it is thought of as an object of competition, a place of competitive bidding and the expression of spatial domination over remote areas. This article proposes to think about the metropolis starting from its margins in a rhizomatic way while introducing a non-hierarchical and bi-categorized spatial approach based on the relation concept, and to consider ‘ care’ as a means of looking after marginal spaces and renewing the principles of land development.

Prenant acte de la production d’inégalités par le phénomène métropolitain lorsqu’il est pensé comme objet de compétition, de mise en concurrence des territoires et de domination spatiale sur les territoires de marge, cet article propose de penser la métropole depuis ses marges de façon rhizomatique en puisant dans la notion de relation une approche spatiale non hiérarchique et bicatégorisée, et d’envisager le care comme moyen de prendre soin des espaces de marges et de renouveler l’aménagement du territoire.
