La forêt est-elle un bien commun, appartenant, symboliquement ou matériellement, à tous·tes les habitant·es de la planète ? À travers la confrontation de trois cadres règlementaires internationaux – le Règlement bois de l’Union européenne, l’engagement « Zéro déforestation » des industriels et des pays exploitant l’huile de palme, et la Commission des forêts d’Afrique centrale –, cet article confronte les difficultés matérielles rencontrées par différents groupes d’acteurs pour protéger la forêt dans un contexte de marchandisation transnationale.

Is the forest a common asset, belonging symbolically or materially to all the planet’s inhabitants? Through a comparison of three international regulatory frameworks—the European Union’s Timber Regulation, the "Zero Deforestation" commitment of industrialists and palm oil-producing countries, and the Central African Forest Commission—this article confronts the material difficulties encountered by different groups of actors in protecting forests against the backdrop of their increasing transnational commodification.
