Résumé 0

This paper is based on an examination of the statistics relating to the offence of public indecency (OPM) as provided by the General Accounts of the Administration of Criminal Justice in France (CGJ). In this paper, I will firstly present the source and outline the history of the CGJ from its genesis to the present day, the possibilities of use it offers as well as its limitations and biases (I) Secondly, after presenting the 1825 edition, I will proceed to a global examination of the data relating to convictions for OPM over 150 years, coupled with an analysis allowing to reveal temporalities in terms of repression of the offence (II). Then, I will conduct a thorough analysis of OPM conviction in terms of gender focusing on women (III). In conclusion, I will emphasize the achievements and limitations of my analysis.
