The coordinating teams of the Print/Capes Projects "Public Education Policies, State and Society: reverberations in human training" and "Educational practices, learning and teacher training in different contexts and languages" and the coordination of the Graduate Program in Education, Faculty of Education, Unicamp, moved by the impediment of materializing the internationalization activities - such as work missions and visits of invited researchers - planned for 2020 due to the pandemic, decided to promote between November and December, a Cycle of Debates online, in order to give continuity to the ongoing actions of the Project.The Cycle of Debates entitled "Utopias and dystopias in education in times of pandemics", which gave its name to this publication, included a set of sessions/tables composed by foreign and Brazilian researchers participating in the PRINT projects.The book ends with two essential invitations to critical thinking: one, made by Alain Patrick Olivier, with the possibility of criticism; and, another, through the dialogue proposed by Sílvio Gallo "Between The Plague, by Albert Camus, and the advance of the "fascist plague" in contemporary Brazil".
