Delia Dutra, « Mulheres do sul também migram para o sul, paraguaias no Brasil », HAL-SHS : études de genres, ID : 10670/1.qpbl7k
This article analyzes the experience of Paraguayan migrant women settled in Brazil. The perspective of the women themselves is the starting point for the analysis. It then seeks to identify the difficulties encountered within the family environment, the professional field, the access to services, the existing migratory policies and to understand the prospects of return to their home country. It is assumed that migration can be seen as an alternative to escape situations of poverty and exclusion on the labour market in their country of origin. The research indicates that migrant women moving between countries in South America, also suffer from the problem of occupational segregation.
