Aimed primarily at children, scientific events can also reach a wider public, including students and researchers themselves. To happen, certain conditions need to be met. Those will allow to move from a pyramidal hierarchy to a circular model between scientists and civil society. Based on ArkéoTopia's six years of practices in outreach activities in archaeology, we will discuss the necessities (training of contributors, scientific options, pedagogical and philosophical choices) and the benefits observed for the animation itself, the training of students and scientific research in archaeology, and for the public.

Considérée comme s’adressant surtout aux enfants, l’animation scientifique peut également toucher un public plus large comprenant également les étudiants, mais aussi les chercheurs eux-mêmes. Pour cela, certaines conditions doivent être réunies qui permettraient de passer d’un fonctionnement pyramidal à un fonctionnement circulaire entre communauté scientifique et société civile. En nous fondant sur les six ans d’activité d’ArkéoTopia dans le domaine de l’animation scientifique en archéologie, nous évoquerons les conditions (formation des intervenants, choix scientifiques, choix pédagogiques et philosophiques) et les apports constatés autant pour l’animation en elle-même, la formation des étudiants et la recherche scientifique en archéologie que pour le public.
