Considering the theoretical and historical discussion about the politicization potential of the workers' movement, and the analysis of the most relevant political orientations that can be inferred about the labor movement in the post-dictatorial period, this paper addresses the specific nature of the emergence of new trends in labor conflictivity in terms of its domain and level of politicization. From there, we examine the concept of new unionism, coined by some authors, arriving at a definition of traditional unionism and the objective character of the new sectors of workers that express the labor revitalization in the context of mature neoliberalism.
