"This article presents the first stages of a research study undertaken by the research group"Bilingualism and Autonomous Learning", ascribed to the Education Faculty Research Center(CIEFED), at Universidad Pedagógica y Tecnológica de Colombia (UPTC). This study is financedunder the auspice of the UPTC Research Center (DIN). A qualitative-descriptive case study isconducted to inquire about the role of self-study materials in an e-platform at the same university.The concepts of on-line learning and blended learning are explored facing contexts in whichautonomous learning emerges. Instruments used to collect the data were interviews, surveys anddiaries. In this moment, the data analysis process is being carried out and findings will be sharedin a future publication."
