This study presents an epigraphical documentation relative to the building programme realised by magistrates, or by benefactors, for the organisation of the urban makeup of some Apulian cities between the Social War and the middle of the first century A.D. The public works have been classified according to the Vitruvian distinction (de arch. I, 3, 1-2) ; the evidence considered includes the juridical language, the nature of the financing, the formulary relative to the munificent or institutional interventions, the onomastic of the dedicators, and, lastly, the status of the cities. The epigraphical material presented here can serve as a useful documentary base for a social history of the territory under consideration.

Si presenta una documentazione epigrafica relativa al programma edilizio realizzato da magistrati, ο da benefattori, per la organizzazione del tessuto di alcune città dell'Apulia tra la guerra sociale e la metà del I sec. d.C. Le opere pubbliche sono state classificate secondo la distinzione vitruviana (de arch., I, 3, 1-2) ; delle testimonianze si è quindi considerato il linguaggio giuridico, la natura del finanziamento, il formulario relativo ad interventi munifici ο istituzionali, l'onomastica dei dedicanti e, infine, lo status delle città.
