Résumé 0

Posterior instances of cutaneous herpes simplex virus (HVS) are systematically studied in a palliative care unit. Six women and three men aged 60 to 80 and suffering from metastatic cancer are described. HSV-2 was confirmed by immunofluorescence in 7 out of 10 samples. When treatment was administered, the lesions healed for 2 patients, and were markedly alleviated in 7 who died of their cancer before the lesions cleared. This form of HSV should be detected and treated early. Its presentation, sometimes atypical or resembling pressure ulcers requires laboratory confirmation of the diagnosis.
