Résumé 0

The discovery on the art market of a stained glass panel of the Transfiguration dating back to the last third of the 12th century, belonging to a well known ensemble marked by Mosan art and coming from the Cathedral of Troyes, allows us to partially reconstruct one of the stained glass windows illustrating the Miracles of Christ. The study of the transfers and reorganizing undergone by several of these panels also demonstrates that they were certainly sold between 1895 and 1909 and that others might also suddenly appear on the art market. The Transfiguration is represented in an exceptional state of authenticity and it will soon be presented, after its restoration, at the Cité du Vitrail in Troyes. It is to be the object of complementary analyses in order to gain better knowledge of the composition of the materials. Eventually it will be possible to take a new look at the history of 12th century panels to which it belongs and which have been dispersed during the last century.
