"This article presents the results of a research project on teachers’reception of the curriculum change carried out in the province ofBuenos Aires as part of the educational reform of the 1990s. Sincethe reform was communicated through printed documents, theanalysis of reception considers teachers to have been readers oftexts that are tools of standardization; as such, these texts delimit thepossible and daily actions in the school environment. Based on thecontribution of reception theory to literary criticism, this article analyzes the ways teachers have read the reform-related documents.Questions are raised about the positions assumed by teachers in theface of curriculum change, as well as the effects produced inteaching work by the state devices designed for such change."
