The research explores principals’ efficacy in relation to their responsibility towards results from the perspective of education inspectors. The "Vanderbilt Assessment of Leadership in Education (VAL ED)" questionnaire has been applied and adapted to the Spanish context. The results show that the education inspectors are critical of the efficacy of the actions developed by the principals
