Gisela Cardoso Teixeira, « Journalism and conflit: the discursive ethos of the war correspondent of Folha de S.Paulo », HAL-SHS : sciences de l'information, de la communication et des bibliothèques, ID : 10670/1.u36lv2
This study intends to analyze the projection of the discursive ethos of the war journalist in his narratives, also paying attention to the influence of his communication media in the constitution of his representation of himself. More specifically, it seeks to observe the issue of credibility and legitimacy that its readership can attribute to the journalist through the discursive elements constituting the narratives, in addition to the proximity and distance from the ideals of objectivity and impartiality that revolve around the imaginary of the journalistic ethos. So, for the research, three reports from different Folha De S.Paulo journalists are analyzed: Leão Serva (Bosnian War), Sérgio Dávilla (Iraq War) and Samy Adghirni (Libyan Civil War). Therefore, this study tries to observe how theoretical notions regarding discursive ethos and journalistic ethos help to configure a possible representation of the war correspondent's self in the texts of the newspaper.
