Les récits cliniques restituent – et trahissent – ce qu’ils souhaitent obtenir. Relu vingt-cinq ans après, un récit clinique qui, avec d’autres considérations, répondait au titre de « L’étranger dans la maison », a donné à l’auteur l’impression fugitive d’être étranger à la cure et à lui-même. C’est que la profession de la personne en analyse, inventée en apparence pour de bonnes raisons, a désorganisé ce qui aujourd’hui semble la vérité du cas (mais demain ?). Fort du précédent de Bion dans Réflexions faites, l’auteur critique comme il peut son propre récit déjà ancien.

Clinical narratives convey and betray what they seek to achieve. Reading twenty-five years later a clinical account which, along with other considerations, matched its title ‘The stranger in the house’, the author had the fleeting impression that he had become estranged from the treatment and from himself. The profession of the person in analysis, which was allegedly disguised for good reasons, managed to clearly disorganize what today would appear to be the truth of the case (but what will happen tomorrow?). Drawing on Bion’s Second Thoughts, the author criticizes as best he can his own long-standing account.
