The article presents an eTandem Chinese-French course conducted between the Unit of Chinese Studies of the University of Geneva and the French Department of Hubei University. The course includes themebased asynchronous learning activities on Moodle as well as task-based synchrononous oral communication via Skype. The purpose of the course is not only to develop linguistic competence, but also to improve intercultural awareness. The iterative design of the course will be discussed in details in the article.
