The author addresses the philosophical dimension of the notion of pandemic and confronts it with previous experiences in this area. The Covid-19 pandemic has highlighted the tension between the protection of individual interests and the protection of a common good, public health. The author dissects the ethical aspects of managing such a crisis and the practical consequences that follow. Finally, she studies the confrontation that has taken place between the scientific community and the health emergency of the last two years.

L’auteure aborde la dimension philosophique de la notion de pandémie et la confronte aux précédentes expériences connues en la matière. La pandémie liée au virus de la Covid-19 a mis en lumière la tension existante entre la protection des intérêts individuels et la protection d’un bien commun, la santé publique. L’auteure décortique les aspects éthiques de la gestion d’une telle crise et les conséquences pratiques qui en découle. Enfin, elle étudie la confrontation qui a eu lieu entre la communauté scientifique et l’urgence sanitaire de ces deux dernières années.
