The Greek Acts of Andrew stage the Apostle and those whom he converts by developing a novelistic plot that leads him to martyrdom. Andrew’s action would have no effect, however, without divine intervention, which he obtains for himself and his “brothers”, as well as other characters in the narrative, through prayer. The Lord always answers favourably, and in a spectacular manner, by carrying out the miracles demanded of him.

Les Actes d’André grecs mettent en scène l’Apôtre et ceux qu’il amène à se convertir en développant une intrigue romanesque qui le conduit au martyre. L’action d’André n’aurait pas cependant d’effet sans l’aide divine, qu’il obtient, pour lui et ses « frères », comme d’autres personnages du récit, par la prière. Le Seigneur répond toujours favorablement, et de façon spectaculaire, en accomplissant les miracles exigés.
