Résumé En

In virtual communication, speakers dispose of a number of specific tools to express their emotions, such as emoticons, abbreviations, or the repetition of symbols. But, given that the expression of emotions is a culturally specific matter, one can expect to find this difference also reflected in the communities created on social networks. In this article, we propose to identify the emotion terms most frequently used by speakers of Ivorian French in a corpus of Facebook comments, in order to illustrate their cultural roots which differentiate them from the rest of the French-speaking world, while also noting the presence of certain other terms whose use has become widespread on the Internet.
