Jorge Cerda et al., « Segregación residencial en las principales ciudades chilenas: Tendencias de las tres últimas décadas y posibles cursos de acción », EURE, ID : 10670/1.vcb7tw
"The pattern of residential segregation is undergoing two crucial changesin Chilean cities: its geographical scale is shifting, and segregationsmalignancy is increasing. Seemingly, these changes are affecting most ofLatin American cities. They are linked to the land markets liberalizationpolicies and to the processes of economic and cultural globalization ofthe past decades. This paper presents empirical data showing the effectsof these changes for three Chilean cities (Santiago, Valparaíso,Concepción); and theoretically discusses the relationship between socialinequality and spatial segregation, rejecting the usual approach thatconsiders the latter as a mere spatial reflection of the first."
