Contributions des SI aux innovations managériales : le cas Valeo

L’innovation managériale est au cœur de nombreuses réflexions (Kimberly, 1981 ; Birkinshaw et al., 2008, Le Roy et al., 2013). La question de leur appropriation par les organisations est particulièrement sensible compte tenu de leurs propriétés et des enjeux stratégiques qui sont liés. Peu de travaux en sciences de gestion ont cherché à faire le lien entre les SI et l’appropriation des innovations managériales alors que le prisme des recherches en SI est très orienté sur l’efficience organisationnelle (Deweet et Jones, 2001), voire sur la transformation des organisations (Besson et Rowe, 2011). Cette recherche exploratoire se concentre sur la problématique suivante : quel rôle peuvent jouer les SI dans le processus d’appropriation des innovations managériales ? Cette recherche proposera de distinguer les différents rôles d’un SI dans ce processus à partir d’une étude de cas d’un équipementier automobile qui va déployer une innovation managériale : les roadmaps de management.

Management innovations are at the heart of many reflections (Kimberly, 1981 ; Birkinshaw et al., 2008, Le Roy et al., 2013). The question of their appropriation by organizations is particularly sensitive given the fact of their properties and the related strategic challenges. Few works have attempted to make the connection between IS and the appropriation of management innovations, whereas the focus of research in IS is very much oriented towards organizational efficiency (Deweet and Jones, 2001), or even the transformation of organizations (Besson and Rowe, 2011). This exploratory research concentrates on the following problem : what role can IS play in the process of appropriation of management innovations ? This research will propose a distinction between the different roles of an IS in this process using the case study of an automobile equipment maker, which is going to deploy a management innovation : management roadmaps.
