Le transhumanisme porte l’espoir d’une transcendance par la technologie. Depuis le siècle dernier, la promesse du transfert de la subjectivité dans un système cybernétique emporte l’adhésion des technophiles. Si l’on envisage une intelligence artificielle (IA) forte supplantant le règne humain, alors le sens de la mort souffrira d’une double négation. On remplacera la mort naturelle par la promesse d’une amortalité dans les systèmes. La question est d’échapper à la vie pour vivre sans exister. Une réflexion complexe s’impose afin de trancher dans la chair du fantasme.

Transhumanism carries the hope in transcendence through technology. Since last century, the promise of the transfer of subjectivity inside a cybernetic system has gained faith among technophiles. We project ourselves in a strong Artificial Intelligence (AI) that would overcome the human dominion. The meaning of death suffers then a double negation. The promise of a non-death replaces natural death. The question is to escape life to live in inexistence. À complex reflexion arises to cut through the flesh of these fantasies.
