Anastasia Serghidou, « Espace géographique et logiques narratives des topographies de la servitude dans le discours hérodotéen », Actes du Groupe de Recherches sur l’Esclavage depuis l’Antiquité, ID : 10670/1.wadynf
In the present study we treat some questions which concern the geopolitical strategies which in Classical world fabricated the memory of places and underlined the importance of the performative specialities which construed local identities and formulated political authorities and social marginalities. We examine the logics through which a global interpretation of spaces and through which cultural and political localities were structured. We also interrogate the processes which led to a hierarchisation of places, and the way some matters were related to personal itineraries, and functionalities proper to strategies of liberties and servitudes. On the basis of this rationale we treat metaphors that evaluate what has been considered as a “ geosophic” spaciality : an aptitude which puts on the same level of interpretation mouvements of thought and thymical paths. It consists of an interconnexion which conceptualises the efforts of monumentalisation and controls the production of conflictualities and the conditions of pacification. We focus on the thymical aspects of mouvements and we develop the way they pathed ideologies of social exclusion. We also treat the impact rhetorical tradition broad up to formulate hierarchies and the way discontinuities established memorisations to organise temporalisations and geographical spaces in terms of liberty and servitude.
