Les auteurs, chercheurs et praticiens dans le champ de la périnatalité et de la petite enfance, proposent un rappel de diverses conceptualisations psychopathologiques, cliniques et psychanalytiques de l’hypocondrie. Ils soulignent le caractère ordinaire de l’hypocondrie notamment dans la rencontre des (devenant) père et mère avec leur embryon, fœtus puis bébé. Ils font ainsi l’hypothèse d’une préoccupation parentale hypocondriaque primaire. Trois vignettes cliniques issues d’un travail de psychologues en crèche permettent de l’illustrer. Par ailleurs, ils mettent en évidence la manière dont les membres d’un groupe professionnel, ici d’une crèche, peuvent proposer un véritable accueil et traitement des préoccupations hypocondriaques des parents.

The authors—researchers and practitioners in the field of perinatal and early childhood care—offer a review of various psychopathological, clinical, and psychoanalytic conceptualizations of hypochondria. They highlight the ordinary nature of hypochondria, in particular when the (future) father and mother meet their embryo, fetus, and then baby. This leads them to propose the notion of a primary hypochondriacal parental preoccupation, and they use three clinical vignettes stemming from psychologists’ work in nurseries to illustrate their hypothesis. They also highlight how the members of a professional group, in this case those working in a nursery, can offer effective support and treatment for parents experiencing these hypochondriacal preoccupations.
