La présente contribution propose l’étude d’un dispositif de financement par projet particulier : les projets de coopération et d’innovation. Cette étude vise à analyser la manière dont les contraintes propres à ce type d’instrument sont légitimées par la Confédération et appréhendées par les chercheurs-enseignants financés par cet instrument. L’analyse menée montre les difficultés rencontrées par la Confédération à modifier les institutions académiques, malgré une plus grande légitimité acquise ces dernières années à intervenir dans ce domaine d’action publique.

« Projects of Cooperation and Innovation » : An instrument for restructuring the Swiss academic space ?This contribution offers a study of a specific project-based funding mechanism : the so-called « Projects of Cooperation and Innovation » ( Projets de coopération et d’innovation). The study aims to analyze how the Swiss Confederation legitimates the constraints entailed by this type of policy instrument, and how faculty funded via this instrument understands them. The analysis shows the challenges the Confederation faces in modifying academic institutions, despite having acquired greater legitimacy to involve itself in this area of public intervention in recent years.
