The article aims to study the latin version of that Roman d'ALexandre section commonly known as the "Fuerre de Gadres": this version appears in two manuscripts and it is very independent from the texts that can be read in the french Roman d'Alexandre manuscripts, mixing traits of its two versions, named 'alpha' and 'beta' by its publishers. A deep analysis will call into question the hypotesis of the Roman d'Alexandre publishers and will problematise the contents of this latin version.

L'article veut approfondir la version latine de celle part du Roman d'Alexandre que communément est dite "Fuerre de Gadres": cette version est conservée dans deux manuscrits et est bien indépendant des textes qu'on peut lire dans les manuscrits français du Roman, en mélangeant traits des deux versions dites alpha et beta. Une analyse approfondie, donc, remet en question les hypotèses des editeurs du Roman d'Alexandre et problématise le contenu de cette version latine.

Il contributo intende fornire un quadro di approfondimento sulla versione latina di quella parte del Roman d'Alexandre comunemente detta Fuerre de Gadres: tale versione è conservata in due manoscritti, ed è largamente indipendente dai testi traditi dai manoscritti francesi del Roman, mescolando tratti dalle due versioni dette alfa e beta. Una analisi approfondita rimette dunque in discussione le ipotesi degli editori del Roman d'Alexandre e problematizza il contenuto di questa versione latina.
