This text describes three tools on which a methodic analysis of geographical iconography can be based on and how it works. The pictures chosen formats, the arrangement and the layout of the pictures as well as the iconographic way of commenting them, strongly help to identify iconographic systems. Several practical examples specify this method and its limits in the contemporary history of french geography.

Ce texte décrit trois outils sur lesquels peut s'appuyer une méthode d'analyse de l'iconographie géographique. L'étude des formats des images, des dispositifs de mise en page et des postures de commentaire des images permet d'identifier des systèmes iconographiques. Plusieurs exemples concrets précisent la méthode proposée et ses limites dans l'histoire contemporaine de la géographie française.
