Artykuł jest studium przypadku – opisem istnienia na terenach Europy środkowowschodniej żydowskiej wsi Iwaniki (niedaleko Pińska). Powstał na podstawie źródeł literackich oraz wspomnieniowych. Jednym z ważniejszych pytań organizujących całość rozważań jest kwestia relacji żydowskich mieszkańców wobec innych uczestników życia wiejskiego oraz postrzegania ich oczyma polskiego reportera.

This article is a case study dealing with the Central-Eastern European Jewish village of Iwaniki near Pinsk. The research is based on literary sources as well as recollections. Key questions revolve around the Jewish inhabitants’ relationship with other villagers as well as the way they were perceived by a Polish reporter.
