Michael J. Baker, « Analysis and interpretation of students' dialogues - Baker », Canal-U, la vidéothèque de l'enseignement supérieur, ID : 10.60527/b3wt-9232
Research in the Learning Sciences gives a privileged place to the analysis of interactions between social actors and with themilieux in which their collective activities are situated. In this presentation, and in this context, I want to engage in an inquiryabout the distinction between the epistemological concepts of "analysis" and of "interpretation, originating in physical andhuman sciences, respectively. On the basis of a critical perspective on what might be termed the 'standard' approach toanalysing educational interactions (systematic application of determinate coding schemes), I will discuss the problem of the unitof analysis of the processes of collective thinking-in-dialogue, and propound a dialogical perspective on alternativeinterpretations of interaction. This will be illustrated with respect to multiple interpretative stances and perspectives on students'argumentation dialogues.
