La théorisation psychanalytique concernant la mélancolie nous enseigne que cette affection est le signe d’un deuil impossible avec l’objet maternel. L’éclipse de l’objet laisse le sujet sombrer dans un endeuillement sans fin qui ruine le champ de l’imaginaire. Confronté à la faille de l’illusion spéculaire, le mélancolique s’enlise dans une identification au rien, objet qu’il a incarné dans le désir de l’Autre et qui constitue le site de sa cruauté. À travers cette recherche, les auteurs proposent de concevoir la sublimation comme l’un des destins de cette cruauté. L’acte de création, réalisé sous transfert, permettrait une ouverture au champ de l’imaginaire et aurait ainsi pour visée de donner une consistance au corps en permettant la création d’une fiction.

The psychoanalytical theorization concerning melancholy teaches us that this affection is the sign of an impossible mourning with the maternal object. The eclipse of the object lets the subject sink into an endless mourning that ruins the field of the imaginary. Confronted with the flaw of the specular illusion, the melancholic gets bogged down in an identification with the nothing, the object that he has embodied in the desire of the Other and which constitutes the site of his cruelty. Through this research, the authors propose to conceive the sublimation as one of the fates of this cruelty. The act of creation, carried out under psychoanalytic transference, would allow an opening to the field of the imaginary and would thus aim to give consistency to the body by allowing the creation of a fiction.
