Résumé 0

This research examines whether the types of innovation practiced in Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) in Cameroon significantly influence their financial performance. Data were collected on a sample of 170 SMEs operating in Cameroon. The results of the estimation of a logit model reveal that innovation activities significantly influence the financial performance of SMEs. On the one hand, the chances for a SME in the sample to increase its financial profitability increases when it implements organizational, product, process, and technological innovations. On the other hand, the probability that a SME’s chances create value decreases when it applies to patents or certification from organizations. This is because the certification process involves enormous costs for SMEs.
