En 1937, en pleine guerre d’Espagne, la Phalange espagnole traditionaliste et des Juntes d’offensive national-syndicalistes (FET-JONS), construite sur le modèle du Parti fasciste italien, devient le parti unique de la dictature du général Francisco Franco. En France, ce conflit divise les populations espagnoles immigrées et entraîne une forte polarisation sociale et professionnelle. Les négociants et commerçants en oranges prennent, pour la plupart, le parti de Franco, jusqu’à devenir centraux au sein de la section française de la Phalange durant l’Occupation.

In 1937, in the midst of the Spanish Civil War, the Traditionalist Spanish Phalanx and of the Councils of the National Syndicalist Offensive (FET-JONS), modeled on the Italian Fascist Party, became the sole party of the dictatorship of General Francisco Franco. In France, this conflict divides the Spanish immigrant populations and leads to strong social and professional polarization. The orange merchants and traders, for the most part, sided with Franco, until they became central to the French section of the Phalange during the Occupation.
