Résumé
This article deals with the relationship between the center and the periphery from a philosophical perspective, in this case Stoic. It studies how Roman stoicism understands the relationship between the self and the world in the doctrine of oikeiôsis. In this perspective, we dwell on one text in particular, which presents an interesting reading of this doctrine and of the classic image of concentric circles : Seneca's De otio, in which the philosopher seems to make a reverse reading of the doctrine of oikeiôsis to clarify the relationship between the center (human reason) and the periphery (the world).
