The book "Commons: connecting perspectives through different eyes" was generated collaboratively over more than two years of meetings of the Sustainable Territorial Development Research Group, linked to the Masters and Doctorate Programme in Local Development (PPGDL) at the Dom Bosco Catholic University. After successive meetings, researching references, reading texts, collective studies, sharing findings and impressions, in other words, exercising the practice of producing knowledge together. In the same way, the knowledge generated by the dedicated group of authors is not destined for a bookshop shelf, nor is it limited to residing on the dusty shelves of a library. On the contrary, it is destined to be shared with the community on these electronic pages with wide and open access, absolutely free for the reader to use without contraindications. This possibility was made possible by the support network created between strategic players that brought together the university, a trade association (Acea) and the professional representation council (Confea). The theoretical depth, which was also applied to the way the work was conceived, materialised and delivered to the community, was certainly only possible due to the group's leadership skills. Special mention should therefore be made of the work's organiser. Prof Dr Cleonice Alexandre Le Bourlegat is a geographer with a PhD in Geography (Regional Development) from the Universidade Estadual Paulista Júlio de Mesquita Filho, Unesp. She has extensive academic experience, both in Brazil and internationally, as well as a particular role in the Regional Council of Engineering and Agronomy of Mato Grosso do Sul, with recognised tributes being paid to her. In the introduction to this book, the organiser summarised the historical construction of the theory and went through all the aspects of the book in an absolutely didactic manner. And for this reason, we suggest the reader start reading immediately, without hesitation! Finally, we would like to express our gratitude for the invitation to preface this valuable scientific production. An opening speech to a work should correspond to its magnitude, so this is a challenge that we received with surprise and satisfaction! We would therefore like each reader to be infected with the same enthusiasm that we feel when we finish reading this book, so that they can eagerly enjoy each of the following pages. That's the invitation! Happy reading!
