Résumé En

Women occupy important roles in families and communities, yet their health specificities limit their agency and maintain the glass ceiling. The objective was to identify factors influencing women's decision-making at maternity and during menopause. Documents (373 pages) from an interdisciplinary conference were analyzed inductively using critical theory. Women's agency is influenced by (1) regulatory power and financial circumstances; (2) health professional power; and (3) culture, society and family. The wellbeing of newborns drive social and health professionals' behavior. Around menopause, women often feel left alone at moments of healthrelated decision-making. To enhance women's agency, a multi-dimensional approach should be considered.
